AmeriHealth NJ April Fools Half Marathon Race Series Attracts Regional Running Clubs & New Sponsors
Margate, NJ (March 29, 2016) -- Get your running shoes ready as the AmeriHealth NJ April Fools Half Marathon Race Series returns to Atlantic City April 2-3, 2016. This annual event is expected to draw over 3,500 athletes and spectators to the City’s world famous Boardwalk including several local and regional running clubs.
The Atlantic City Sports Commission, in partnership with the Atlantic City Marathon Race Series’ April Fools Half Marathon, attracts athletes from throughout the Eastern Seaboard to race in various distance runs throughout the weekend. On Saturday, April 2, the 11K and 7K events will begin at 9 a.m. The Kids Fit Final, sponsored by the Atlantic County Council of Education Associations (ACCEA) starts at 11 a.m. the same day. The main event, the AmeriHealth NJ April Fools Half Marathon will kick off on Sunday, April 3 at 8 a.m. All race start and finish lines will be on the Boardwalk at North Carolina Avenue in front of Resorts.
Among thousands of race competitors on the Boardwalk will be seven different local and regional running clubs including: BFF Running Club, South Jersey Chapter; Black Girls Run, New Jersey and Philadelphia Chapters; Black Men Run, New Jersey Chapter; Badgers Running Club; NJ Shore Run; DJD - Darcy Johnson Day Law Firm; and the ACBA - Atlantic County Bar Association.
Several groups will be fundraising for important causes during April Fool’s Race Weekend in Atlantic City. Among those, the Atlantic County Bar Association is running to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. "The Atlantic County Bar Association, under the leadership of President Joseph Levin, Esquire, and Rogue Running For Charity Chairman Richard Andrien, Esquire, is proudly continuing its support of the Atlantic City Marathon Race Series and the JCC by having its ACBA Rogue Runner team participate in this year's April Fools races,” stated Samantha Wolf, ACBA Immediate Past President. “I am also running the Half Marathon to honor the memory of two friends who passed away and I am very grateful for the support of the JCC, the ACBA and all of the wonderful volunteers, without whom this fantastic community event would not be possible,” added Wolf.
Ainsley's Angels of America which aims to build awareness about America's special needs community through inclusion in all aspects of life. The "Angel Team" is comprised of at least two Ainsley's Angels. The rider is the core of the team and pulls the runner across the finish line with smiles, cheers and immeasurable inspirational spirit.
As the April Fool’s Race Weekend event grows, so does the list of sponsor supporting this important event. Jumping on board this year is Golden Nugget Atlantic city and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation's Team Challenge . About the Atlantic City Marathon Race Series The Atlantic City Marathon Race Series is a division of the Milton and Betty Katz JCC, a 501(C)(3) organization based in Margate, New Jersey. The Race Series is dedicated to supporting the local community charitable works as well as the Milton and Betty Katz Early Childhood Scholarship Programs. Working in conjunction with National charitable organizations, it is the goal of the Atlantic City Marathon Race Series to support organizations that fundraise through road racing events. For each participant, the Race Series strives to offer events that allow participants of all skill levels to participate and accomplish their personal goals.
